Milwaukee Road #261

Fall Excursion Oct 4-5 2003 

On October 4-5 Milwaukee Road #261 ran on some home rails it had not run on since the locomotive was retired from service.  The Canadian Pacific allowed the Milwaukee Road #261 to pull a Fall Color Excursion from Minneapolis, MN to La Crescent, MN and return on Saturday Oct 4 and Oct 5 2003.  The trip was run under the auspices of an Amtrak Excursion.  The weather was beautiful and seeing the big Northern on former Milwaukee Road tracks was a great thing.
