Milwaukee Road #261

On June 27, 2004 Milwaukee Road #261 ventured onto the rails that were part of the first Grand Excursion celebration in 1854.  The Rock Island was the first to reach the Mississippi River.  On June 27th #261 pulled an excursion train on ex-Rock Island tracks now owned by Iowa Interstate Railroad.  The train ran from Rock Island, IL to Bureau Jct, IL and return.  With speeds of only 25-35mph there were plenty of photo opportunities.  However cloudy weather made for less than great photo conditions.
Photo Locations include:
Colona, IL
Anawan, IL
Sheffield, IL
Tiskilwa, IL
