The photos below were taken at various times during 2008 at one of the busiest railfan locations in Wisconsin.

Duplainville is the location of a diamond with the Canadian Pacific (former Milwaukee Road) and Canadian National (former Wisconsin Central, former Soo Line) mainlines.  This location can see close to 40 trains in a 24 hour period.  Amtrak and the Wisconsin Southern also make daily appearances.  So the trains are many and varied.

Visitors to Duplainville, WI

Duplainville is a great place to watch trains in Wisconsin.  Just avoid going down by the diamond, it is railroad property.  Many railfans sit on Marjean Road just south of the CP tracks.  Then use the scanners to listen for trains and trackside detectors to go off.
