Chinese QJ 2-10-2 Doubleheader

Friday September 15, 2006

On Friday September a pair of Chinese QJ 2-10-2 Steam Locomotives purchased by the owner of Iowa Interstate pulled a passenger excursion train from Davenport, Iowa to Iowa City and Homestead, Iowa.  This trip was part of the River Way 2006 celebration when the first railroad bridge crossed the Mississippi River at Rock Island, IL.

The excursion train would stop in Iowa City for passengers to detrain and have lunch.  During this time the train would proceed west to Homestead so the train could be turned on the wye and return to Iowa City and Davenport, IA.
